Hippolyt Saurer, son of Adolph Saurer and co-owner of the renowned commercial vehicle manufacturer Saurer, was a pioneer in mechanical engineering. He developed, among other innovations, the first vehicle diesel engine and designed groundbreaking trucks and weaving machines that set new standards in technology and reliability.
Saurer AG is considered a milestone in Swiss industrial history and has been a subsidiary of OC Oerlikon Corporation AG in Pfäffikon since early 2007, where it continues to advance its technical expertise and innovative capacity.
