*Heinrich Kuhn
In 1926, Heinrich Kuhn acquired the bankrupt copper and steel pan manufacturer Gebr. Kindlimann (commonly known as “Pfanni”) and founded the Heinrich Kuhn Metalworks. Under the brand Duro, he developed the first cookware suitable for the emerging electric stoves by using aluminum instead of copper or brass.
In 2001, the Heinrich Kuhn Metalworks was renamed Kuhn Rikon AG, and in 2006, the museum dedicated to the history of cooking was inaugurated.
